Description
An intriguing dwarf red hot poker with unusual red, amber and green flower spikes. First year flowering, and filling gaps too small for its larger common cousins. Adding interest to the front of the border but for the biggest wow factor make it a star of you patio container displays. How to sow Sow February to June or September to October on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Cover seed with a light sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Keep at a temperature of between 15-20°C (59-68°F). After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination can take 14-30 days. How to grow When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart. Additional information Flowering period: July, August, September Pack contents (approx.): 20 seeds.
